One of Fort Worth's best Christmas traditions, the Parade of Lights is scheduled for Friday, November 27th in downtown Fort Worth. The parade begins at 6pm on Throckmorton and Belknap, but at 2:00, bring your kids to the Holiday Fun Zone, a play area complete with "free tile-painting," provided by Home Depot between streets 3rd and 4th. The Christmas tree lighting will commence after the parade at 7:45 in Sundance Square, and then, you and your family can settle in to watch "Elf" on a big screen in the Chisholm Trail parking lot! What a fun way to welcome the Christmas season!
An entire schedule of the day's events and parade information can be found here.

There are multiple Tarrant County locations, so check their website to find the one nearest you. You probably can't even cook dinner that cheap.

Happy Hour just got happier.
It's 3pm, and either it's raining, sweltering hot, or you're going crazy because the kids are. What to do to keep them entertained, even for a few minutes that's not going to cost you lots of $$?
Easy.
Sonic Happy Hour.
Now, perhaps it's not the happy hour you were looking for, but it certainly can feel that way. Because when you hear happy slurps and gulps in the backseat, you can lean back with your cold Diet Limeade and sigh with bliss because,
a.) you've just killed some of their boredom
b.) you got to partake in the fun, too
and
c.) you paid for the everything with loose change from your purse.
Sonic Happy Hour is 2-4 everyday, where all drinks are 1/2 price. To find a Fort Worth Sonic near you, click here.

Bounce places make them want to--Jump, Jump!
Alright, sorry for the cheesy song reference. But if my kid is like yours, they love to jump. And if my kid is really like yours, she doesn't nap unless she's exhausted. So, in my very sneaky mommy way, I'm hoping to take her to a bounce place this weekend to do just that. Here is a list of Fort Worth bounce houses and their open playtimes! Leave a comment if you've been to any one of them (and if you scored a nap afterward). And, of course, bounce houses are a great place to have birthday parties!
